Visual
Arts
KlezKamp features a workshop setting for art classes, where students can work on their
projects at times of their choosing and at their own pace during art classes or in the
evenings. Instruction, resource materials and supplies will be available as needed.
Demonstrations and slide shows will be offered. Bring your own projects, tools and
materials to share. Work created in arts workshops will be shown in the traditional exhibit
at the end of the week.
Papercutting/AM2 Susan Leviton
Learn traditional Jewish papercutting with an emphasis on the holiday cycle. Historical and
contemporary examples of this compelling art form will be shown in class.
Yiddish Calligraphy/PM1 Peggy Davis
Learn the basics of traditional Jewish lettering, with emphasis on the construction of the
alef-beys and its inherent rhythm and beauty. Participants will aim to craft a traditional
piece of calligraphic art.
Fiber Arts/PM2 Vera Sokolow
Join veteran crafts instructor Vera Sokolow. Past projects have included challah covers,
yarmulkes, aprons, wall hangings and, of course, purses and tote bags. Bring your creative
self and an open mind.
