Welcome to Living Traditions

Join us for KlezKamp's 30th Anniversary!
December 23-29, 2014 (Kerhonkson, NY)

Dear KlezKamp family and friends,

With mixed emotions, we'd like to let you know that KlezKamp 2014 will be the last week-long gathering sponsored by Living Traditions in the Catskills.

At the same time, we’re excited about our partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where the Mayrent Institute plans to revive and bring Yiddish culture to new venues, campuses and communities nationwide and around the world.

For more information, please see 30th Anniversary Announcement.

We hope all of you can join us on Dec. 23-29, 2014 in Kerhonkson, NY for this historic celebration and commemoration of 30 years of KleKamp.

KlezKamp 2013 brochure coverIt is a pleasure to welcome both old and new friends to our Web site. Through events like “KlezKamp: The Yiddish Folk Arts Program” (now in its 30th consecutive year) and programs such as our Peabody award winning NPR series the Yiddish Radio Project, our popular KlezKamp RoadShows plus new projects such as our groundbreaking 3 CD Yiddish 78 RPM reissue anthology Cantors, Klezmorim and Crooners 1905-1953: Classic Yiddish 78s From the Mayrent Collection, Living Traditions is in the forefront of preserving and presenting community based Yiddish culture to new and enthusiastic generations.

If this is your first time with us, take a moment to poke around our homepage and see who we are and what else we do. We hope you will choose to join us in this meaningful and exciting work.

So stay awhile. Have a piece of honeycake. Yiddish culture has never been more at your fingertips.
